In attempting to import a text file using a specification (which has previously worked) I get the message "Cannot update. Database or object is read only." Neither the file to be imported nor the exiting database is listed as read only when I view their property settings. I am using ACCESS 2000 with database and import files on a local drive. What's going on?

If the DB is setup on a work group - are you logged into this work group and does your user have permissions to modify the table?
