Hi All,

I'm new to VFP so please excuse my ignorance here! I have an excel spreadsheet that I'm trying to import into VFP but I just have no idea how to that easily. Is there an easy way, or an app that someone knows of that can move data from Excel to VFP?

Thanks!

Steve

The big question is if this is a one-time need or if this needs to be done periodically.

Obviously Mike's suggestion works well for a one-time need, but the manual approach might not be the best approach for a more frequent need.

If a more frequent 'import' was needed then you might want to consider a more programatic approach.

Let us know and, if needed, we'll try to help you out.

Good Luck,

also, if it is saved in newer of excel, you cannot use Mike's suggestion.

you would have to save the excel as CSV (or older version), then use Mike's.

Or, you would need to do excel automation.

I believe there are bunch of topics on this subject if you can search the tek-tips FAQ or threads.

search for "excel automation"

Hi All,

Thanks SO much! I was able to use the Import Wizard with a CSV file just fine. It was crashing when trying to import an Excel 2010!
