I have succesfully installed CM 3.3.3 on a generic PC. I am trying to import my 3.2.2c database with no luck. Here are the steps I am following:

1. Install OS (Win2k SP3)
2. Install Reg hacks.
3. Install OS Upgrade 2000.2.6
4. Install MCS Backup utility 3.5.53
5. Restore STI_Data partition with production 3.2.2c files
6. Use the restore function to restore my MCS.sti file.

The restore fails with this as the first error:
[00:16:51] Dropping Ccm0307 from Clt-Ccm-11
[00:16:59] Restoring Ccm0307 database to Clt-Ccm-11
[00:17:07] Fatal Error - Database Ccm0307 on server Clt-Ccm-11 was not restored

We did this at a customer, upgrade 3.2.2 to 3.3.2 onto new server hardware and we had to do something special so that when CCM is installed it acts like it's actually a recovery not an install. I'll look further tomorrow. I know there was something specific to this because you are moving from SQL7 to SQL2000.

You can't restore on older version of a CCM database to a newer version of CCM; I found this out the hard way while going from 3.3.4 to 4.1.2.

However, when going to 3.3.3, you do a Same Server Recovery during the installation process - it's the only upgrade that will allow you to restore an older CCM database to a newer version.

Here are the installation guides:

jerake75 found the link I was looking for. I knew we had to copy certian files onto the new server to simulate a Same server recovery I just forgot what they were. :) Been too many days since we did it.
