We have a dilemma here. A table was created with all fields and data types we wanted. However, we are at the point of just now wanting to import the information (started backwards)...the problem is the excel spreadsheet doesn't contain the same type of columns as the new access table created. Each time we try importing an error message appears. Is there a solution or will we have to start over by importing then adding the additional fields to the table? I can't tell you how grateful we are for all the help you guys have provided.

Several things to consider...
- Change the data types of offending fields of the destination / target table
- Import into a new table and let Access determine type. Note that you may get errors. Typical situation is where a column is mostly numbers or mostly dates, so Access defines the table as numeric or as Date/Time. Upon the import process, Access may "hit" data where a "number" or a "date" is actually a text string which will cause an error.
- Edit the Excel sheet to match the expected data type for the Access table. Hint: Copy / Special Past as value.
