I've just been asked to give my opinion on publishing a company newsletter through my intranet. Is it possible to import a mailing list from Outlook to email the link to the newsletter to? (e.g. AllEmployees would go to everyone, of course!) If I can do that, that would relieve me of having to maintain the mailing list. Any thoughts on this subject greatly appreciated. Calista :-X

hi calista

By mailing list what exactly do you mean? You have a distribution list of contacts in your Address book and you want to export them right?

I hope I can help. First off, I dont think you can export a specific distribution list, but you can export every contact. When exporting you get the choice of CSV or TAB, and you can choose which fields about the contacts you want exported, and what these columns are displayed in, but not the order of the records.

Do the following: FILE > import and export > choose export to a file
1. choose either comma seperated DOS or tab seperated DOS at the bottom
2. choose the contacts folder
3. choose the location and file name
4. to filter certain fields click Map Custom Fields and then Clear Map at the lower right, and then drag fields from left to right

This will give you a nice export of the address book.

I hope this gets you started.

Never mind. I was making this a lot harder than it had to be. I can just upload the newsletter and email a link to everyone from my computer. Thanks, anyway! Calista :-X
