Hi,

I'm inplementing a system with dual boot with aix 5.1/5.2. Is there a way to import or mount a logical volume created on the 1st physical disk while the system is booted up from the 2nd boot partition.

Thanks in advance.

Yes, you just have to be aware of that identical names will be change when you import them.

importvg -y newvgname hdisk#

Do not import another rootvg, LVs in imported rootvg will be changed its' name to avoid conflict with current rootvg.
Next time you boot from this disk may fail due to names of LVs changed.
I suggest you put shared data on third disk. And import it to each rootvg.
I have done it in my customer site.

Thanks Morsing. The logical volume which I want to import is on the rootvg on hdisk0, does it matter ?

Oh my goosh...I only have 2 PVs on the system.
