Implementing YTD with Named Sets

Is it possible to implement YTD, previous YTD, previous 12 months, etc. using named sets in Analysis Services 2005?

The idea is to generate an MDX query that will return all members (of the date dimension) between two dates which are defined somehow and are easy to change.

Does AS2005 suuport dynamic Named Sets?
