Implementing a little CTI

I want to write a little appl that only display the status of all the ext connected to BCM.
I do not want to use the LanCTE, because it is too limited (it does not work 64 bit system).
I have tried with SNMP, but there is not the events related: with the call log it is not possible, because when the call is an outside-call, the CDR is saved when the call is terminated.
Have you any ideas ??
