I have an Epson FX-1170 and print under windows XP. I also have a Laser printer connected to the same port trough a mux. When I print to the laser everything is ok. When I print to the epson the system takes all the CPU time and won't let me work until it's done. I checked the printer configuration on XP and it's ok...
Any help will be trully appreciatted.

I'm having the same problem printing to a Canon BJ230 and the problem was there before I moved to XP. The printing seems to consume all of the computer resources - might as well go get a coffee while waiting for the print to complete. I have checked to make sure the print is being spooled and I even checked-off "print back to front" just to make sure it was spooling. Nothing helps. Have you been able to resolve the problem?
