impact on Ent/OPS manager when changing element IPs

Hi,

Has anyone ever changed IP addresses on elements that are in Ent/Ops manager? What is the impact?

my guess is that I would have to re-discover the elements and re-sync with OPS. I am hoping though that OPS recognize the elements and just update the IP info.

any tips?

I just changed IP in the OPS Man and ICP. Any issues

BTW if you have any IP trunks you will need to correct it as well

did you not have to re auto discover the new IP subnets? sorry I should have mentioned these are new IP subnets.

I don't use autodiscovery. I just put all the settings and it works. Besides that I don't use Ent Man. Only OPS manager to keep clusers in sync.

MP, you are correct, all you need to do is re-discover the node in EMan, then sync to OpsMan. Double check your NE data in OpsMan after the change, just to be sure.

I Recently changed the IP of 1 controller in a cluster of 4.

The Sync to OPSman took care of the opsman settings. Adding the network in the discovery panel took care of discovery.

No Issues.

you're all confirming what I though would be the case....

Also keep in mind if this is a cluster using IP trunking or SDS, or anything else that requires the other nodes to have the IP address of the node you are changing, that needs to be changed as well. If you're using SDS, check the other nodes to make sure the change gets pushed out, I've had issues with that not happening in the past.
