IMP utility problem (*probabaly character set problem)

I AM RUNNING ORACLE8I VERSION 8.1.7 AND 8.1.5 I HAVE EXPORTED A FILE USING EXPORT UTILITY IN ORACLE 8.1.7 AND TRYING TO IMPORT IN DATABASE RUNNING ON ORACLE VERSION 8.1.5
I AM UNABLE TO IMPORT THE EXPORTED FILE CREATED IN 8.1.7 DATABASE TO ORACLE 8.1.5 DATABASE ERROR WHICH I GET IS

Export file created by EXPORT:V08.01.07 via convention path
import done in WE8ISO8859P1 charcter set and US7ASCII NCHAR charcter set

Import server uses US7ASCII character ser(possible charset conversion)

IMP-00069 :could not convert to environmentnational character set's handle

IMP-00000 :Import terminated unsuccessfully.

As a general rule, if you want to import to an earlier release of Oracle, you have to export using the earlier version of the export utility. Most likely that's your problem, since the messages indicate that you used the 8.1.7 export.
