IMP: NEED SOME SECURITY ISSUES ADVICE

Hey guys! I am trying to interface lotus notes with my web application and need some security suggestions. Basically, my application will send users an email in Notes that needs to take them to a particular page to perform their task....this application initially was entirely inside Notes, so the user was already authenticated when he clicked on the link in his email. Is there a way for the user so that when he clicks on the link it takes him straight to the page he needs to go to, at the same time authenticating him?? There needs to be maximun security here to also prevent hacker invasion.
