I'm running Exchange 5.5 SP4, and the Internet Mail Connector is giving me problems. It suddenly stops letting in emails from the SMTP server every couple months. When I try to look at the queue in Exchange Administrator, it freezes. And I can't stop the service in order to restart it. Once I reboot everything is fine though. Anybody ever see this before?

I have this problem too, and when I examine the event log on the server, it has an entry witch refers to some invalid message in the BAD folder.

Sometimes it helps to shutdown all exchange services, delete the bad message (file name is in the event log), run a defrag, and restart the services.

You may have to enable some logging in Exch.Admin for the events to appear.

I never got any errors examining the message queue though.
Maybe it's better not to examine the queue until the services are restarted..

But I really would like a more permanent solution. [sad]
