We've got an IMC on Exch 5.5 which receives incoming SMTP from 2 different feeds - one feed for our main domain has been rerouted - it used to go via a Mailsweeper machine and now comes direct. But the Exchange Server doesn't pick up mail or respond to the sending machines. Instead we get the log entries below in our protocol log. It looks like various mail servers are trying to send mail in but the Exchange IMC is not answering? Anyone got any insights? We know the IMC is functioning because it picks up mail from a different feed on another domain and delivers it into Exchange OK.

Thanks

Andy Russell

Hi Andy,
Just check if the IMC is still configured to send mail using ETRN to the old mailsweeper machine.. if yes, just remove that- also in connections tab of the IMC, see if the forwarding of the mail is to the ip of the local dns and not of the mail sweeper - in any of these cases, the mails will go ok - but will not be recd at all by ur mail server...
