IMAP solaris 7 won't start

umm ... some of the security patches for solaris 7 / solaris 8 change the call stack, which b*ggers up the modem, and by the sounds of it postfix.
can you get hold of a newer version/compile it yourself and see if it works?
if not, it might well be worth your while getting the imap/pop3 server from sunfreeware, and running sendmail.
