iManager does not load. When I try to launch it from NetWare Remote Manager, I get this error:

Novell iManager does not respond on 172.16.2.2.
iManager is not installed at :ADM.KOMMUN.GRUMS.
Would you like to continue searching for iManager?

I'm running NW 6.5.3 on the server.
When looking in Currently Installed Products on the console
iManager 2.5.0 is listed there.
This server is also running ZfD 6.5.2

But if I start Remote Manager on my other NW 6.5.3 server which also runs GroupWise 6.5.5 and then launch iManager fron there it all works fine.

What could be wrong here ?
What should I look for to resolve this ?

Is Apache2 running? Is Tomcat running? is LDAP working and functional? Is java running and does it show 2 processes running - something like 'catalina'? Are your PKI (SSL) objects valid? Can you go to and what comes up? What if you just go to the Ip address of the server in your browser?

There are lots of pieces that come together for iManager.. so you gotta make sure they are all working, and if not, determine which piece isn't.

On another note... Having iManager on all your servers isnt' necessary. In general, doing so makes your life as an adminsitrator harder because you have to take care of it in 2 or more places. Just configure it on one system and keep it working. It will manage everything in your tree from the one server location (If you want to compare, it's just like how you only need to run consoleOne from one system to manage your entire tree).

I am having a similar issue. When I type in the address it comes up connection refused. I checked and apparently LDAP wasn't installed, so I ran the install and it comes up saying that the ports are already in use and I need to choose different ones. I tried just using the same port, but then i get errors about LDAP connectivity not found when it tries to load up Tomcat.

I uninstalled Tomcat, Apache, and LDAP and tried reinstalling LDAP first, but i still get the ports in use error. I just finished migrating from Netware 5.1 to Netware 6.5 sp5, and I think that is part of my issue. I see 2 objects in console one, LDAP Server and LDAP Group. Are those from my old server? How can I get LDAP back up and running? Do I need to delete the objects?

Thanks Marvin !
The problem was that Apache and Tomcat was not running on the server.
