IMAIL V8.10 HACKED

Hi Guys & Gals

Have IMAIL Server with AntiSpam v8.10 (recently upgraded to 8.13) has been hacked!

Somehow - this hacker has setup a virtual account and is using one of our clients accounts to send spam

Can anyone tell me how they are able to do this

When i look at the account alias on the server this account does not exist but still on the ROOT account for the IMAIL Server I recv all the NDR's

ie. mydomain.co.nz - he has setup an email at hacker@mydomain.co.nz etc..etc..

They probably haven't gained access to your system. Just typical spam tactics of spoofing the from address. It just so happens that the domain name they are using on their spam is your domain name, so any NDR's come back to you.
