On 9/12/05 I came into the office and there was no e-mail traffic.
After investigating the problem I found one users “Junk E-mail” folder had 126GB in the mbx. This in turn filled up the D: drive and stopped e-mail traffic. I rebooted the server and then deleted the junk e-mail box and then recreated it.
Traffic has started to come back through. Now we have some users who are “missing” emails from their Imail inbox.
I have read on another forum that Symantec Corporate will quarantine an entire .mbx if there is a threat found there. I noticed that the Symantec Corporate (8.1.0) has 64 items in quarantine, but they are all .tmp files (not .mbx) and all 64 items have the same date 7/29/05 (almost 6 weeks before the problem).
I am not sure that the SAV thing is really the problem. Could something else be causing this.
Just like in the past I am getting little to NO support from IPSwitch. So I think I might just "ip"switch to exchange!
