SMTP connection refused from IMAIL server.
I am using IIS 5 SMTP server with GFI products as a mail gateway for my internal Exchange 2003 server.
I am having trouble sending to certain email servers, particularly to a company running an IMAIL 8.15 server. If I respond to an email thread initiated from someone in that company, my response email goes through. If I initiate the thread, however, the email does not go through. No NDR is received, no indication that there was a problem. (other than people not getting what I've promised to send them!!)
If I telnet to that IMAIL server on port 25 from my SMTP, I have no problem sending to that domain using the command line interface, with my same domain name, which points me to an SMTP misconfig on my part.
My domains' DNS seems to be configured right - MX in place, reverse lookup ok, no open relays, no black lists.
Something is causing IMAIL server to reject our email sent from our SMTP server. Since their administrator won't respond, I'm hoping another IMAIL user can help me out.
