I have a ghost image of a server I need an exact copy for software development. I am having a problem getting the new box to boot "inaccessable boot device" The new box has a different SCSI controller, this is the issue we need to work around any ideas?

If you are ghosting the server, the target needs to be an exact hardware match of the server you are imaging.

The server is trying to find the original SCSI card to boot from, and when it doesn't, you get the Inaccessible Boot Device message. -----------------------------------------------------
"It's true, its damn true!"
-----------------------------------------------------

Before ghosting the box, place the other box scsi controller on the one you want to ghost and install the driver for it. If you do this, the OSs will already have the driver for the controller on the destination server

You can't really do that because if that is done, it will mean that the original servers SCSI drivers get overwritten and it now has the incorrect SCSI card drivers and may suffer from the same Inaccessible Boot Device error. -----------------------------------------------------

I found a Q number about backing up the original server sytem state and all, restoring it to the new Hardware and doing a repair, worked.
