sounds fairly simple - but is maddening!!!! how come when a document + images are created on one machine on a network, are then transferred to another machine - and the usage says that the images are all modified??!? even though nothing has happened to them ecept they've been copied across the network.

this only started happening fairly recently - nothing in our setup has changed at all either.

Are the time and date consistent between the computers? The program may be checking the date that a file is COPIED to the local harddrive. You should not have this problem if you store the images on a single server in your network - - - although you may significantly slow your design work if Quark needs to poll images on a remote computer through a sluggish network.

If both your machines are connected to a network and there is a network time server present, make sure that both machines are synchronised with it using the Date & Time control panel. This was a common problem in our studio of 20+ Macs, but using a common network time server solved it for us. "For the creative mind there is no right or wrong.
