I'm doing a little investigative work using Computer COP. It's a program that runs a scan on a computer and logs all the questionable pictures and words that have been viewed on a machine in X amount of days. You can then scroll through the pictures and view each one that was accessed as well as the path it was located. I ran Computer COP on a machine and found quite a few X-rated pictures stored in the Temporary Internet Files folder on Windows XP. The user insists that he did not go to any X-rated websites, but rather he received spam mail which contained these images. My question is, if an Outlook user receives images in his email, will they be stored in a Temporary Internet Files folder, or is there a specific Outlook folder where they would be temporary kept?

Truly attached pictures seem to be temporarily stored in: C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\OLK4A (foldername might change with Outlook version).

Imbedded pictures from the internet (html url) do seem to be stored in the TIF folder just as if they were viewed with the browser.
