For some reason, the images I am placing in Indesign are about the size of thumbnails. I do not recall having had this problem in the past. A 230 x 230 image is showing up around 30 x 30, and I cannot increase the size without pixelation problems. Does anyone have any idea what may be wrong?

Are both the frame and content at 100%? Also, the 230x230 document (I'm assuming that's pixels) - is the resolution 300dpi or so?

Since ID is a page layout app for print, you should be using the print size (in inches, cm, etc) of the photo to determine what it will look like in ID.

Using OSX 10.3.9 on a G4

..choose > view > display performance > high quality if you are sure your images are correct in resolution...

...indesign uses a low res proxy image and by default the images will often look pixelated unless you change the display options, however, high quality setting for display will slow indesign down, particularly noticeable in larger documents...

It is the strangest thing. The frame is at 100%. As for content, i located it under Objects - and the three choices -grapic/text/unassigned are washed out in color and therefore unalterable.

I almost wonder if the problem lies in "My Pictures", because the images look pixelated there also. Illustrator objects can be brought into it at normal size. Then again I can move these images into an HTML document I created and they are normal size.

I just captured a picture with Capture Eze Pro, saved it in "My Pictures", and placed it in InDesign and it is a 10th of its original size.

For the first time with InDesigh, a program I thought I was pretty good at, I am COMPLETELY IN THE DARK.
