I have ImageReady 7.0 installed and my photo gallery page is taking FOR EVER to be saved optimized. In fact, ImageReady appeared to stop responding to the system during the save process.
When I took a look at the machine, I discovered ImageReady used approx 700MB of RAM before I killed it. The machine had 512MB installed and running the task manager while ImageReady was saving allowed me to monitor the memory use. The memory use started at about 300MB after ImageReady was loaded (no image file loaded) and during the optimized save process, memory use crawled up to about 1GB (300MB before the process plus another 700MB during the process). Then, I stopped the process since it was obvious ImageReady wanted WAY more RAM than what is installed.
So, I added 1GB of RAM to my machine, a total of 1.5GB. Performing the same optimized save process results in the same amount of RAM being used (obviously) but the process still took longer than I'm used to and the amount of RAM being used still concerns me. When ImageReady completes the optimized save process, RAM use goes back down to the 400MB range. I still have yet to successfully upload my gallery page :^(( I have never in the four years I've been using ImageReady have had this problem.
Is it normal for ImageReady to consume RAM like that when saving things optimized? Any feedback from those with similar experience would be most helpful.
Thanks
Swizzy
