Hi there,

is an image upgrade of a BayStack 450-24T a straight forward task?

Currently it runs software version 3.1.0.22 and I would like to upgrade it to BayStack 450 Ethernet Boot Image v4.3.0. Is there anything more I should do, is it possible to save the software version in use onto a TFTP Server before upgrading?

Thanks in advance
Knutern

And what is the difference between Agent and Boot image???

Cheers

after some researching, i found it myself. Load Boot Image before Agent Image. Upgrade done.

You are done but I hope to help the next person:
you put the boot image (small) and the Agent (large) on an FTP server and go to the menu on the 450 to download and apply each one.

This will reboot the 450 twice. Do not lose faith that it is updating. your session will fail and need to be refreshed, this is normal

The boot image is updated less often than the agent, sometimes you only need to apply one, but nortel always supplies them in pairs and it is harmless to always apply both.

I tried to remain child-like, all I acheived was childish.

Can you do this using FTP? I have used tftp in the past...

Sorry, while I said FTP, the actual download is TFTP, I just use the same box for both protocols
