Image resolution & Quality 1

Is it possible to resize an image, and then improve it's resolution and quality in Gimp? eg) take a standard picture-sizded image and make it into a 1024x768 pi. image that looks as good as the old one? A walkthrough would be awesome! Thanks!

There's no way you can automatically improve the quality of a picture; once information is lost there's no way to get it back. However, you can play around with various effects (sharpening, noise removal, etc.) and see if any of those result in what looks like a better picture.

Why don't you post a link to a sample picture that you want to "improve" and we'll take a look!
Remember that you can never generate information that was not in the original image. But you can make the best of what you have.
