I was wondering if there is a way to resize a picture and therefore reduce the number of pixels of this new image.

I could create one image with 300 x 300 pixels and 45K for example and another one 100 x 100 and 12K.

Can I have an image 300x300/45K That I could reduce by programing to 100x100/12K for example?

If it was possible, I could create only one picture and generate Thumbnails as required. If I just set the size of the picture in html, i do get the size I need but the 'weight' (45K) do not change.

Any info will be appreciated.
Thanks
Louis

When resizing via HTML the "weight" will not get smaller. However, once the image is downloaded it is stored in cache and there is no need to download the larger or thumbnail version. Thus the total "weight" of the page will remain lighter. I tend to create my largest image, then thumbnail with resizing resulting in one image with rather than 2. DeZiner
