Image Ready displays videos as plain white

Can't seem to load any videos to convert them into gif format. I load them into the little preview box using quicktime first and it plays sound for a split second with a white background. I've tried xvid, avi, mpg etc but no luck. I've got the latest codecs from a codec pack as well.

This involves CS2 version of Image reader.
