I HATE NETSCAPE!

I have created an image map that displays fine and works fine in explorer. However in Netscape it does not see any of the links, or rather just does not work. Here is the code:

<MAP NAME=&quot;navbar&quot;>
<AREA SHAPE=&quot;RECT&quot; COORDS=&quot;78,45,195,25&quot; HREF=&quot;index.shtml&quot; TITLE=&quot;Home&quot;>
<AREA SHAPE=&quot;RECT&quot; COORDS=&quot;60,70,195,50&quot; HREF=&quot;philosophy.shtml&quot; TITLE=&quot;Philosophy&quot;>
<AREA SHAPE=&quot;RECT&quot; COORDS=&quot;48,95,195,75&quot; HREF=&quot;services.shtml&quot; TITLE=&quot;Services&quot;>
<AREA SHAPE=&quot;RECT&quot; COORDS=&quot;41,120,195,100&quot; HREF=&quot;loans.shtml&quot; TITLE=&quot;Loans&quot;>
<AREA SHAPE=&quot;RECT&quot; COORDS=&quot;39,145,195,125&quot; HREF=&quot;whatsnew.shtml&quot; TITLE=&quot;What's New&quot;>
<AREA SHAPE=&quot;RECT&quot; COORDS=&quot;39,170,195,150&quot; HREF=&quot;calculator.shtml&quot; TITLE=&quot;Loan Calculator&quot;>
<AREA SHAPE=&quot;RECT&quot; COORDS=&quot;47,195,195,175&quot; HREF=&quot;hrslocation.shtml&quot; TITLE=&quot;Hours And Location&quot;>
<AREA SHAPE=&quot;RECT&quot; COORDS=&quot;58,220,195,200&quot; HREF=&quot;contact.shtml&quot; TITLE=&quot;Contact Us&quot;>
</MAP>

<!-- End Navbar Image Map -->

<td valign=&quot;top&quot; bgcolor=&quot;#ffffff&quot; width=&quot;200&quot; height=&quot;1&quot;>
<table border=&quot;0&quot; bgcolor=&quot;#ffffff&quot; cellpadding=&quot;0&quot; cellspacing=&quot;0&quot; width=&quot;200&quot; height=&quot;1&quot;>
<tr>
<td align=&quot;center&quot; valign=&quot;top&quot; width=&quot;200&quot; height=&quot;440&quot;>
<IMG SRC=&quot;images/navbar.jpg&quot; USEMAP=&quot;#navbar&quot; width=&quot;200&quot; height=&quot;440&quot; border=&quot;0&quot; alt=&quot;Navigation Menu&quot;></td>
</tr>
</table></td>

If anyone can give me ANY IDEA why that code should not work in Netscape I would love to know.

Thanks.

interesting bug/problem. the issue here appears to be your declaration of the areas. you've put things in backwards by having the higher y value first and the lower y value second. for example...

Code:
<AREA SHAPE=&quot;RECT&quot; COORDS=&quot;78,45,195,25&quot; HREF=&quot;index.shtml&quot; TITLE=&quot;Home&quot;>

instead, put the lower value first followed by the higher value. for example...

Code:
<AREA SHAPE=&quot;RECT&quot; COORDS=&quot;78,25,195,45&quot; HREF=&quot;index.shtml&quot; TITLE=&quot;Home&quot;>

from my testing this is the problem and solution for both NS 4 and NS 6.

Before starting shouting out it's a good thing to learn html rules.
gacaccia is right: two first coordinates of the COORDS attribute are for the top left corner, and two last ones are for bottom right corner of the rectangle.

Your code doesn't work in Opera also, so it's your problem rather than Netscape's error.
