I have a page that displays in IE but not in Netscape.
The page conatins an Image Map.
If I take off the image map then the page displays in Netscape.
Why does the image map cause Netscape to not display?

The site is:

I've visited your site with netscape on a MAC ;), it works well. Just the parts of your image map are working well.

But i think it's a bit great (some 400K to download). The page is viewed after the complete download and it takes some time.

Have fun

Few things I noticed.

I opened it in Netscape 4.0 with Windows ME. That page is huge. As dambo said all that code and graphics has to download before netscape will show it. Unlike IE it won't show what it has as it is downloaded. After it did finally download the page blinked and then nothing but a white screen. I started to look at your source when I closed it the page was back. So I clicked on a state everything seemed ok but then I hit the back button on my browser to get back to the top. It loaded again and white screen. I minimized netscape and brought it back up. Page was there.

My thought this is just way to much info on one page for lil ole netscape to handle.

Break your image down in to multiple pieces and put them back together again on the page. Though that won't be an easy task since each state is a link in the map (though not impossible). Also you may want to look in to each state opening information in to a new window. Maybe use javascript to open a new window onclick. If it all has to be on the same page, add a back to top link after each state for easier navigation.

Lessening your image size and amount of data may be the only way to get netscape to be able to handle it easier though.

Good luck hope that helps!
