We are running Vault under FP3 and using tape duplication to move a copy offsite while maintaining a readily accessible original for restores. The retention on the local original is one week and the offsite duplicate is changed to 1 month. However, the media does not seem to expire and become available to the system. We do not have the system expire the media after x hours ( a vault parameter) because we thought the retention time would take care of that and the media would become available once the retention period ended. What is the problem??
