Hiya folks,

Does anyone know why a pre-defined tab cell (WIDTH="x") expands when an image custom made to fit is inserted? MS IE and Netscape show about a 6px addition, Opera's fine. Can't figure this out. No HEIGHT in BODY and VALIGN in TD specified.

I started web design/development as a hobby recently, and currently working on three sites.

thx!

The formatting of your HTML can cause extra space.

For example,

<TD>
<img>
</TD>

Can give different results to

<TD><img></TD>

Have a play, squash things up a bit. Dean Owen

Thanks Dean and John for the replies.

John, CELLPADDING is set to &quot;0&quot; ...

Dean Owen/QuietDean was correct that the formatting and/or style of my HTML scripting can give different results.

I was using the style:

<TD>
<IMG..>
</TD>

for all tags to better see that I get all the closing tags. That this can cause unexpected results is terribly ironic.

it works!
