I am trying to get my hands on a freely distributable DLL (or ActiveX) that will allow me to convert a BMP to a JPG. Infact this is all it will ever have to do! It needs to be fully free as I will need to distribute it with the application.

Can anyone recommend anything as the ones I have come across are either not free or have some sort of splash screen popping up whenever you call it, which just isn't suitable!

...or suggest a better/easier way of converting a BMP to a JPG that does not require a 3rd party product?

I like work. It fascinates me. I can sit and look at it for hours...

You could utilise GdiPlus within your VFP application or an external com object such as the ImageMagickObject

GDIPlusX from VFPX can do this and it's VFP code (calling on the Windows API).
