image caprture tool

I am looking for a image capturing tool for Redhat. Basically, I have to make up doecumentation on using a gui based application. I wanted to capture the steps via gui. The gui can be resized but it would be great if I can just capture the gui and save it as a jpg/gif/or whatever's best and then resize it later if I hae to.

well, you could use xwd from a shell prompt, but most likely what you really want to use is the GIMP, which like xwd, also takes root window and app window screen shots.
As a bonus, you can use GIMP to resize the images later.
