Image a BCM50 Hard drive

Has anyone ever made a BCM50's and works? We had BCM50 R1.0 failed, seems like the HD crashed, could not get it back even with level 2 reset. When we open it and suprised that there was a 3.5 inch desktop SATA HD in it same as BCM400 (IDE HDD). So I'm wondering if anyone who ever done a ghost resore on a BCM50 HDD and let it work. I knew how to do it on a BCM400 HDD, but have no clue how to do it on a BCM50.

I took a image from a BCM v1 once for a backup but I never had chance to try and restore it..
