Both my iMac and Powerbook G4 won't read a CD formatted with a PC (using ISO methods and tried all others). My oder Power Macintosh 7300 reads the same CDs with no problem. iMac and G4 don't even see the CD. If I use a blank CD of same brand, it sees the CD. Using classic environ. on iMac and G4 has the same problem.
Apple says they never heard of the problem. This is a big deal since our business depends on info supplied by clients using IBMs- since I have two machines with the problem, they probably all have the same problem!

I have seen, cds that will not open on G4's as well, but will open on an older machince. Is this possably down to speed?

Another question, do the machinces which you can't read the cd's on have CD-R drives in them?

If you can't fix it in 20 minutes call someone who can.

Thanks for the info - I tried the Joliet extension and it allowed OS9 to read the CDs but still don't know how to get OSX to read them.
I also noticed that if I burn a CD using the Std format with the iMAC, those CDs won't read in my older Power Mac 7300. If I use the MP3 format, they will.
Still would like to be able to use CDs from any machine, on any machine. Any suggestions?
Thank you
