I am pretty sure I have a virus but can not find out which one. Symantec show the window for scanning outgoing messages that I am not sending. I believe I have a virus with its own SMTP engine that is sending out the mail. How can I check this other then scanning the server (that has not picked up one yet). This is on a Server 2003 machine.

Make sure your virus definitions are upto date. There is a new virus (MyDoom.N) doing the rounds. Think there is a fix on the sophos website under support (but not certain). Also run your virus checks in safe mode. The virus may be local to your machine.
