Hello everyone. I received 8 cisco 7960 ip phones from a local business and that was all and i have no idea how to hook them up besides that they use cat5 or 6 UTP. Whats the easiest cheapest way to use them in my home what hardware do i need? your help is greatly appreciated!

You will need a server running the Cisco software. Ain't cheap

You would need a router running call manager express. However, if you are technical you could flash the phones to use SIP and run an asterisk server. Either way it will require time, money , and knowledge.

Are you sure the phones work?

Thanks for your reply, Yes the phones work they were guaranteed Not DOA. Looks like this isn't a DIY project like the Norstar system i have ill be talking to a professional.

go to ebay. Cisco MCS with a cisco image are fairly cheap.

as long as its a lab your ok. DONT use it for a business.
