Hey guys & gals. I'm trying to get the original caller ID to show up for twinned and forwarded calls.

[ul]
[li]System is R11.0.4.1, 500v2 not server.[/li]
[li]PRI, full span of 23, DMS100.[/li]
[li]Checked the send original checkbox under the PRI trunk.[/li]
[li]Checked the send names checkbox as well.[/li]
[li]Confirmed with the Telco that the screening table is removed.[/li]
[li]Calls are sent using the [tt]9Nz"blah"s1231231234[/tt] short code.[/li]
[/ul]

I can call to an extension with mobile twinning enabled and the number sent out is the original caller but the name is not passed through, I get the company name as specified in the 9N short code. If I remove the company name from the short code I get the extension name of the set I called. I know the incoming call has a name as part of the CLID as I can see it "PhoneCo Qz | NXX-XXXX" in system status on the incoming call, but, as I said, the original number is all that is passed through.

I figure I must be missing something simple but can't find it on this fine Friday afternoon.

Thanks in advance.

Hi derfloh.

I'm well aware of the checkbox for sending the original name and number. My 3rd point indicates that I've enabled it. That and the fact that the original number is being sent. My issue is that the original NAME is not.

Can you actually send NAME on a PRI set to DMS100??

In the US, telephone systems send out the caller ID NUMBER, and the telephone company serviceing the person being called dips into a database to find the matching name to deliver with the call. Many times the databases aren't synced so a wrongor old name may come up, or the delivering telco opts to provide a different name such as a geographic location based on area code and prefix instead.

Yes, TTT, I can control the name. On this site I am sending either the business name or (when removed from the shortcode) the station name. This is controlled by the z"blahblahlbah" part of the 9N shortcode.

This is typical of how the Telco's in my area of Canada work, though with one of them you have to specify that you want to control the name at the PBX level and the other just assumes you do. For example, my desk phone sends a combination of my company and first name and my DID ("PhoneCo Qz | NXX-NXX-XXXX") on outgoing calls.
