hi, does any body know the difference between Microsoft Visual c++ and Borland c++.
I never seen microsoft visual C++, so I suggest that they both creat DOS application only.Is that right?

As far as I know, Borland C++ will create windows apps (if it is a fairly recent version). Microsoft Visual C++ certainly does.
I don't know much about Borland but VC++ will generate stripped-down Windows applications just by using the MFC Appwizard that you can select when you start a new file (or workspace). You then add your code to flesh out the app. BTW, MFC stands for Microsoft Foundation Classes. This is a group of classes that hide the Windows API. Some people love MFC and some hate it. The compiler can be used to write programs without it if you don't choose to use it. It will also compile straight C code.
