I'm getting this msg when trying to get into SMIT 2

hi,

Are you running smit as the root user or other user and are you specifying any other flags with smit like smit -l?

sounds permission related problem . Have a look at this

If you want to log your smit sessions, you must have write permission in the current directory. ( I never look at any Smit logs !)
Go to the directory above the one in which you're working and ls -l the directory . It should be (at least) drw-rw-rw ) If not ,then chmod it to (at least) 660.
