As my subject stated. I created crop marks in Illustrator.

Object > Crop marks > make

When I save as pdf, those crop marks won't show up on screen or when I print the document.

Any ideas?

Make sure that the Artboard is larger than the crop marks, otherwise it'll be cropping away the crop marks !!!

Ctrl+Alt+P for File > Document Setup

How ironic, right?

Also, in other formats you can place unfilled/unstroked boxes around your work to maintain a border of white space upon save/export.

Peace.
Sef.

It is alright to decorate construction, but never construct decoration. - Pugin, on Arch.

Triska-

These crop marks are well within the artboard size. They are just very strange. They cannot be edited or moved.

Object > crop marks > make

They will not view in the pdf document I created from Illustrator. No big deal. I just posted another thread. There are two ways to create crop marks. The other path works best because they are usable vector lines & do show up when I save as a pdf. Thanks for your help.

nice. I did notice that set-up in your other post concerning templates. That sounds like a good idea. I have actually never had any problems with the printer before, I am just in research mode and want to see how opther people are doing things. There is always opportunity to evolve my processes even the simplest things.

Thanks for all your responses.

Have a swell day!
