ILLUSTRATOR TEXT PATHS

Please help, I am re-doing the text in a logo that is round. I need my text to go around in a circle. I'm new to Illustrator and my book isn't helping much, I understand I need a text path, but once I make one how to get my text to go along that path?? AHHH!

make a circle using the object tool. then just simply click on the edges using the path type tool (its behind the type tool)
