Hi,

Whenever I try to align objects they move from where they are to some other random place on the page. Completely annoying. I align objects on the top of the page and then I need to scroll right to the bottom of the page to find the newly aligned objects.

Thanks

Lock the item you wnat the others to align to. They'll all align to that item.

Using OSX 10.3.9 on a G4

Afz:

Select all items to be aligned, then click once more (just one single click, there will be no evidence of it but it works) on the object that you want the others to align to. Align, and that object will stay put. No need to lock anything.

You may want to check the flyout on the align palette and make sure the option "Align to Artboard" is not checked...

Also, be sure that you're not selecting something additional you did not want to select, like a guide or something.

Lastly, make sure you're not selecting one object that's in a group, because the alignment will align to the group as a whole.
