I am trying to import an Illustrator 10 file into Corel 11. The Illustrator file has many segmented lines with a ton of nodes. I need to find a way to get these lines to become one continuous path and reduce the number of nodes. I need to do this because when I bring it into Corel all the segmented lines are viewed as individual objects, yes I can combine them but the node count is so high that I manually have to go through and delete all the unnecessary ones. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I think I know what your problem is. Sounds like your AI file was imported from some other application and mega segmented.

Assuming you have Illustrator, you will have to Pathfinder>Merge the segments together. Do not merge the entire artboard, organize into proper parts/groups. This may take some time but quicker than than removing points/nodes. Then Object>Path>Cleanup...

Also save down to Illustrator 5. Corel 10 hates anything higher than this. Don't know about 11.
