Illustrator CS3 spot colors become process colors in acrobat 1

I have been trying to print a two-color (both spot colors) to pdf from illustrator cs3. When the document arrives in acrobat, the spot colors become process colors. How can I make acrobat recognize the spot colors chosen in illustrator?

...make sure 'convert all spot colors to process' is unchecked in the print dialog...

...also try saving to pdf rather than printing to pdf...

...check the spot colors in the swatches palette are spot colors, double click them to verify...
