Illustrator crashes when I move large groups of objects!!

Is there any way around this?

Illy keeps on crashing when I move a large group of objects. It's just rectangles and text boxes - nothing fancy - no blends, gradients, complex shapes etc.

What's the go?

Just a shot but sounds like a hardware issue, Either video ram or system ram. Is this a Mac or PC. If PC is it a Dell or homemade?
