ILLUSTRATOR AND FONTS

I created an EPS file in Macromedia Freehand 10 and DID NOT save the fonts as outlines. When I attempted to import the EPS into Illustrator, it said the fonts were missing, even though they are in the fonts folder where Freehand had access to them. Why does Illustrator not recognize these legitimate fonts? Also, when I type directly into Illustrator with the same "unrecognized" font, it types correctly. Thank you.

Have you tried doing a find and replace font?
