Illustrator and Dreamweaver - incompatible?

I have the oddest problem. I created a nice graphic in illustrator, save it as a GIF, then pop it in dreamweaver. the preview looks fine on my machine, but when I upload for live viewing, the image is GONE. Yes, I am uploading the image. Any suggesstions?

Is your <img> element pointing to the correct path? If you give us a link to the page and the image, it should be simple to check this out. I'd guess that's more likely the problem....
