In Illustrator 9.0, i've noticed problems with my color picker- mainly when i try to color pick a color from an imported image. the "no-color selected" symbols pop up in both the outline and fill boxes. i just can't get a color from the image, i usually have to approximate it.

also, when i try to color pick type to be white filled only, i get the same "no color" fill and outline boxes and i have to play around a couple times with the fill and outline boxes to finally get it to be white.

i didn't have this problem with AI 8.0, so is this a new issue, or is my version buggy?
(i run a mac with OS 9.1)
Thanks,

Im afraid adobe dropped the ball on this one. It really pisses me off that I cant sample colors from a placed image anymore. You will just have to open it in Photoshop and write down the values and reinsert them in Illustrator for now.

Another addition to 9 I'm not to fond of is the appearance pallette. If you select some type and it shows you no fill/stroke, take a look at the appearance pallette and notice how it has its own fill and stroke properties. Sure this pallette is powerful and can do some really neat effects, going back and editing these effects is a pain.
